Welcome to the blog

Hafa Adai and welcome to Strive.

Strive represents many things for me.

1) It is a nod to the accurate name that my parents bestowed upon me at birth. My name is Emilee, meaning industrious and striving, which considering I am an entrepreneur is very fitting.

2) This blog represents my opportunity to share with my fellow business owners and entrepreneurs information that I found really interesting and helpful.

3) As entrepreneurs and business owners we always aim for excellence, reach for the next level and never give up without a fight, which is what Strive is all about.

About Me

I made Guam my home in 2007 and plan to keep it that way. I am a recent graduate of the University of Guam and  hold a bachelor’s of business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship, as well as a minor in writing. I have many passions including cooking, baking, fiction, and writing in general. I also have a passion for all things small business, and all things supporting the growth of small business.

What’s in it for you?

I learned a ton in college and think that the tools, techniques, and tips that I learned there can benefit those aspiring entrepreneurs starting their businesses as well as those already living their entrepreneurial dream.

The Plan

I am going to post once a week every Sunday beginning on August 5, 2018.  I know we are all busy people and so each post is going to be a 5- 15 minute read, something that I hope everybody can fit into their busy schedules.

The first post will cover the Business Model Canvas as a 4 part series.

The series will start with the first 3 components of the BMC, then the following 2 posts of the series will be the other 6 components. The final post will be the importance of the BMC and ways to use it, and will include some resources for you.

What do I need from you?

I’m not asking for a whole lot. I just need an open mind, willingness, and motivation to get stuff done. If you have any topics or questions you would like me to cover please comment below or email me via the Contact page.

That’s it for this week’s post and I will see you for part one of the BMC series on August 5.

Go forth and shine.
